When we came back to school in August, December seemed a very long way off and yet here we are! It has been a busy term at ALP Leicester filled with exams, enrichment trips, Parents and Carers Evenings and visits amongst so many more things.
As you can see from the newsletter we have had a packed Autumn Term where we have been determined to make the most of the opportunities available to ALP Leicester. This has meant that a lot of groups have managed to experience inspiring talks from a range of different companies and agencies as part of our careers offering this academic year. The way students have spoken about these experiences with excitement and enthusiasm reaffirms the value of direct experience for our learners.
As a school, we have also recently completed ‘Commando Jo’ training and have started to implement this across the school. Commando Jo provides a powerful syllabus of character based learning. The programme of work provides a balance between classroom and outdoor activities. We are confident that the syllabus will play a significant role in shaping resilience and confidence in our young people…
