ALP Leicester provides continuity in learning for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans. We are a provision for learners on the autistic spectrum or who have other special educational needs and challenging behaviour. We cater for young people in their primary, secondary and post 16 school years. The overarching purpose of our provision is to work with children so that they are able to overcome the barriers to learning that they have previously encountered. We aim to offer flexible, structured and supportive needs led approaches.

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who has enthusiasm and passion for working with this challenging area of special educational needs.

The post holder will support and deliver learning of EYFS/primary level curriculum to primary, secondary and/or post-16 learners with learning difficulties/disabilities in both individual and small group learning sessions. They will work with all key stages and will be able to tutor learners in accordance with the school’s curriculum policy.

The post holder will also be required to assist and deliver lessons in other subjects and will be required to support the school’s ethos of developing the personal and social development of the learners.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to train/gain funded qualifications in the following areas:

● Phonics

● L3SEN

● L3TA

● L5 Education and Training

● QTLS/QTS Other relevant training options are available linked to the post and the school development plan.
