Here we are at the end of the academic year, and it has certainly been an eventful one. ALP Leicester has been incredibly busy all year and learners have all made progress in what they know and understand. They are eager to share their learning with me whenever I am in their classroom.
This year saw ALP Leicester increase our school capacity to 55 learners (previously our maximum capacity was 35 learners). As part of this process Ofsted came to visit the school and recommended that the Department of Education approved our application (for a material change).
I also want to take this opportunity to thank the staff who have been committed to providing a broad and balanced curriculum to our learners. There have been numerous exciting opportunities throughout the year for learners to explore and try new things. They have proven what a fantastic team they are. I feel privileged to work with them.
The learners remain the beating heart of our school. Each child plays their part in the puzzle. We continue to develop an inclusive environment where individuals can flourish and be themselves. Our students epitomise tolerance and understanding.
Thank you to all our families and carers for continuing to support us this year. We really do appreciate all of your support at events in school and with supporting your child’s learning at home.
As I write this, my mind is firmly rooted in August, making plans, and looking forward to what I am hoping will be another brilliant year! During the summer we will let parents and carers know which class their child will be in next academic year. We also have a number of significant building works happening over the summer that will enhance the school’s facilities (watch this space).
Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to Owen, Natalie and Hansa who are all moving to schools closer to home. They have had successful years at ALP Leicester.
Congratulations are in order for Jenna, Zico and Thomas who will be starting with us in the new academic year. I hope you all have a fantastic summer and make the most of time together as a family.
