Assistant Head Teacher – Pastoral & SENCo

Jenna Marlow

After completing a degree in Education Studies and having experience in a variety of placements within education, it cemented my passion for inclusive education. I continued on with my professional development through completing a PGCE in Special needs and Inclusion and secured a role as a SEN teacher. Throughout this time I was able to deepen my own pedagogy of teaching and be able to remove barriers to learning for a more inclusive education. In order to delve even further I progressed onto  a middle leader and the role of SENCO which enabled me to understand learners from a different perspective. This role guided me to be able to create support strategies for a variety of groups such as behaviour and nurture, promoting a positive and inclusive ethos around school including areas such as safeguarding and wellbeing.

Fast forward to today and I am now the Assistant Headteacher at ALP Leicester leading the school on Safeguarding and Pastoral. My passion for helping young learners thrive within education whilst ensuring safeguarding is at the heart of the school is my priority here, and I’m excited to be part of the team.
