We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has enthusiasm and passion for working with this challenging area of special educational needs.
The post holder will support and deliver learning of EYFS/primary level curriculum to primary, secondary and/or post-16 learners with learning difficulties/disabilities in both individual and small group learning mathematics sessions. They will work all key stages and will be able to tutor learners in accordance with the school’s curriculum and mathematics policy.
The post holder to support the school’s ethos of developing the personal and social development of the learners.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to train/gain further qualifications in the following areas:
- L3 SEN
- L3 TA
- L5 Education and Training
- QTLS/QTS

Role: SEN Primary Teacher
Salary: £36,000

As the successful SEN Primary Teacher you will specialise in the tuition of one or more core subjects such as maths, English, ICT or Science which will be delivered to learners in both individual and small group learning sessions.
You will need to be able to plan, deliver and assess your own teaching and learning activities with some direction and supervision from the Senior management Team. You will work with all key stages and will be able to tutor learners in accordance with the school’s curriculum policy.
You will also be required to assist and deliver lessons in other subjects and will be required to support the school’s ethos of developing the personal and social development of the learners.

Additional Information
This is a full time, permanent, term time only position which is 40 weeks per year.
Essential Criteria
- Enhanced DBS check (paid for by the company)
- Experience of working with special needs including social, emotional and mental health difficulties, alternative education provisions, community development, dealing with vulnerable people and those with complex needs.
- Good knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum
Desirable Criteria
- Good understanding of developmental ages and stages relating to learning
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Knowledge of social media
- Full UK Driving Licence
