ALP Schools provide continuity in learning for pupils with Education, Health, and Care Plans. We are a provision for learners on the autistic spectrum or who have other special educational needs and challenging behaviour. We cater to young people in their primary, secondary, and post-16 school years. The overarching purpose of our provision is to work with children so that they can overcome the barriers to learning that they have previously encountered. We aim to offer flexible, structured and supportive needs-led approaches. 

We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has enthusiasm and passion for working with this challenging area of special educational needs. 

The post holder will support and deliver learning of EYFS/primary level curriculum to primary, secondary, and/or post-16 learners with learning difficulties/disabilities in both individual and small group learning sessions. They will work all key stages and will be able to tutor learners per the school’s curriculum policy. 

The post holder will also be required to assist and deliver lessons in other subjects and will be required to support the school’s ethos of developing the personal and social development of the learners. 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to train/gain funded qualifications in the following areas:

  • Phonics
  • L3 SEN
  • L3 TA
  • L5 Education and Training
  • QTLS/QTS

We are looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic, adaptable individual to driver our 9 seater people carrier. The post holder will drive the company vehicle, providing an efficient, reliable and quality service in accordance with safety legislation and the schools policies and procedures. The purpose of driving will be home-to-school transport and transporting both staff and learners to various learning activities.

Relevant experience of working as a driver within a similar setting is desirable. The successful candidate will have excellent and efficient organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills. They will also have a calm and tactful approach and the ability to work to deadlines.

They will work all key stages and will be able to teach learners per the school’s curriculum policy. They may also be tasked with supporting or delivering other subject areas.
